EMERGENCY RELIEF

The worldwide population of refugees, migrants, asylum and safe haven seekers is neither historically unique nor likely to abate in the future. Emergency relief assistance should be of concern to each and every human because the plight of a refugee is one of the saddest tragedies today. For a variety of reasons ranging from inadequate clarification to poor implementation of existing programs, relief and protection of refugees are limited. It is very painful to see the suffering that can be relieved with just a minimum of true solidarity.

The first step toward helping refugees is to understand that they are not faceless people begging for sympathy, nor are they a threat to us; rather they are themselves threatened.

In any refugee population, approximately 50 percent of the uprooted people are women and girls. Refugees situations are usually classic emergencies' in which people are deprived of nay say in what happens to them. Most refugees leave their homes not because they want to, but because they have to.

There are five main reasons why people leave:

Wars– conflict both internal and external harm more civilians. flood, fire or drought, sometimes natural and sometimes man made.

Environment– people are forced to flee from flood, fire or drought, sometimes natural and sometimes man made.

Politic– politically induced humanitarian emergencies, dictatorships and state repression threaten opposition groups, certain nationalities.

Economics– people leave their countries because they are poor and hope for a better life.

Persecution– civil unrest individual repression puts people in danger because of their race, religion, gender, or sexuality.

The global refugees crisis in the world should be of concern to everyone. Refugees are human beings whose specific situation renders them powerless and persecuted. Their situation is urgent, which is why our understanding and support is important. The common humanity calls us to help. Growing concern over the insufficient response of the international community has led Helping Hands International to develop response mechanisms that are accurate to address the world's great waves of migration.
